The Minerbio natural gas storage facility, located in the province of Bologna and operated by Stogit, part of the SNAM Group, is the largest natural gas storage site in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. In 2025, the facility celebrated 50 years of operational activity, confirming its strategic importance within the national and European energy infrastructure network.

As part of the ongoing modernization program at the site, Saipem is carrying out technological upgrade activities and the enhancement of the surface infrastructures. The project focuses on the progressive modernization and efficiency improvement of the facility, supporting the optimization of operational performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability of the plant.

The scope of work specifically concerns detailed engineering activities related to the upgrading of existing systems and infrastructures, including the coordination and development of technical solutions aimed at integrating new technologies with the current plant configuration.
